South Portland Students Build a Core Sound 17

Duke Harrington, with Keep Me Current, recently wrote an outstanding article about our South Portland High School One Classroom Project group, which aims to teach science, math, and engineering through the building of a wooden sailboat. Our students, who come from a variety of backgrounds and have often struggled in a traditional classroom environment, usually discover that the hands-on learning they get with our instructors literally turns on their intellectual lightbulbs. Capturing a program like the One Classroom Project can be a challenge for anyone, including journalists, but Harrington really captured the work we are doing here and we thank him for that.
