Next Generation of Boaters Hits the Water in Cataumet

Every summer, Crossroads for Kids, a great program for at-risk youth that combines a year-round mentoring program with an immersive summer camp, travels to Parker’s Boat Yard in Red Brook Harbor and spends the day with local volunteers aboard both sail and power boats. The Red Brook Harbor community has been very generous and provided both their time and boats to the event. This week, over 100 kids made the trip to the Cape and enjoyed a perfect day on Buzzards Bay.

Amy and Tyler from Stuart Knockabout had the opportunity to take five excited students aboard Clewless and between turns at the helm and swim call they learned a little about the local geography and navigating underway.

For 75 years, Crossroads for Kids has provided the support and guidance to kids encouraging them to achieve greater academic success and responsible citizenship. We are very grateful to be a part of this excellent program and look forward to next summer!
