The restoration of Stuart Knockabout No. 29 is nearing the end of the tear-down process. The teak rails have been taken off, hardware removed, and her bottom ground. Her interior has also been taken out for painting and the replacement of her worn benches.
Next comes grinding down her decks!
Part of the restoration involves removing the hardware on the aft deck. Nearly all hardware is through-bolted for strength. Originally, this is all done BEFORE the deck is attached to the hull. Removing hardware AFTER is a much different task…
