The Town of Gosnold’s Harbor Committee announces a new Harbormaster, Captain Jake Farrell, and a new Assistant Harbormaster, and Dockmaster at Cuttyhunk Marina, Maddie Lynch
Harbormaster, Captain Jake Farrell
This summer Captain Jake Farrell will be your main point of contact at Cuttyhunk Island for all your harbor safety needs, including but not limited to: groundings, collisions, vessels adrift, assistance with mooring tie ups, reporting suspected boating under the influence, and harbor noise complaints. Captain Jake is a Seasonal Staff Member of Cuttyhunk Marina and is available from June 1st to September 15th. During that time he can be reached by phone (508-990-7578) or on VHF Ch. 09
Captain Jake is a former Harbormaster of 11 years for Newport, RI, founder of the Rhode Island Harbormaster’s Association, and founder of the Newport, RI Illuminated Boat Parade. Most recently he served as the Harbormaster of Third Beach Harbor in Middletown, Rhode Island. He has also spent many years working as a civilian captain of a 120’ navy work boat picking up torpedoes for submarine exercises, and spent several years as a private yacht captain. Captain Jake brings over 50 years of maritime experience with him to his role as Cuttyhunk Harbormaster.
Assistant Harbormaster and Dockmaster, Maddie Lynch
Maddie Lynch is the new Assistant Harbormaster and Dockmaster. Maddie takes over this position after serving 5 years with Cuttyhunk Marina as Assistant Dockmaster. Maddie is the main point of contact at Cuttyhunk Marina for all your needs, including but not limited to: mooring & slip reservations, cancellations, questions & info about the island and Marina, and Island Resident Services such as Resident Annual Slips and Resident Business Shacks. Maddie is a full-time staff member at Cuttyhunk Marina and lives on Cuttyhunk Island year-round. She can be reached by phone (508-990-7578), email ([email protected]), or on VHF Ch. 09

Maddie is a former Head Sailing Instructor for Cuttyhunk Yacht Club, a certified US Sailing Level 1 & 2 sailing instructor & coach, and a former member of the Town of Gosnold’s Harbor Committee. She is currently in pursuit of her Captain’s License and her full Massachusetts’ Harbormaster Certifications.
