Wind Advisory issued December 4 at 8:26AM CST until December 5 at 3:00AM CST by NWS Duluth MN
* WHAT...Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
expected for much of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
* WHERE...In Minnesota, Carlton and South St. Louis, Central St.
Louis, Northern Cook and Lake, and Southern Lake Counties. In
Wisconsin, Price, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Sawyer, and
Washburn Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Bois
Forte Band, Lake Vermilion area, the Lac Courte Oreilles
Reservation, the Red Cliff Band, the Bad River Reservation, the
Fond du Lac Band and the St. Croix Band in Burnett County.
Recreation spots such as the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore
and Madeline Island. This also includes the Boundary Waters
eastern and central area.
* WHEN...From noon today to 3 AM CST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, west winds 20 to 30 kt
and waves 3 to 6 ft. For the Gale Warning, northwest winds 20
to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and waves 4 to 7 ft expected.
For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at
a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater expected, and may rapidly
accumulate on vessels.
* WHERE...Silver Bay Harbor to Two Harbors MN, Two Harbors to
Duluth MN and Duluth MN to Port Wing WI.
* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until noon CST today. For
the Gale Warning, until 10 AM CST Thursday. For the Heavy
Freezing Spray Warning, until 10 AM CST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
