The Punta Gorda Boat Club is located at 802 W. Retta Esplanade, Punta Gorda, FL, on beautiful Charotte Harbor. The club began in 1951 and has a long history in the city of Punta Gorda and has offered much to promote tourism to the city. The murals on the front of the building tell this wonderful story of boating, sailing, kayaking, regattas, boat raft up, social events and are part of the Punta Gorda mural walk. The boat club membership is eligible to applicants with a registered water vessel or owner of a kayak. Each month we have many planned activities, such as, monthly cruises day and overnight, kayaking, dinner meetings, theme parties, formal commodores’ ball, sunset socials, picnics, and barbecues. We also give back to the community with the S.T.A.R. (special training and rehabilitation) cruise and luncheon, Adopt-A-Shore, Coastal Cleanup, and Salvation Army Bell- Ringing. We offer regular use of the building to other users such as Punta Gorda Sailing Club and Gulf Shore Sailing School, formerly known as Learn to Sail. PGBC is a responsible member of the Charlotte County Community. We are dedicated to community services, and we strive to fulfill that commitment through contributions to safe and pleasurable boating, support of charitable organizations and preserving the environment.
