The Provincetown Portuguese Festival & Blessing of the Fleet is a time-honored tradition that has flourished and grown thanks to the continued effort of its many volunteers. The Festival honors our Portuguese traditions while the Blessing recognizes the courage and fortitude of the Portuguese fishermen who risked their lives on the open seas to feed their families and to share their catch with residents of their unique fishing village.

The Festival now embraces town-wide, fun and activity-filled days of music, dancing and food, as well as the colorful pageantry of our popular parade. Culminating at the end of Macmillan Pier on the last Sunday in June (this Sunday 6/24), the blessings of good fortune for the coming year are bestowed by clergy on fishing vessels and leisure craft.
