* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet
accumulations up to 4 inches and ice accumulations up to two
tenths of an inch.
* WHERE...Portions of Big Bend and Panhandle Florida and south
central and southwest Georgia.
* WHEN...From 1 PM EST /noon CST/ this afternoon to 1 PM EST /noon
CST/ Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. The strong winds and weight of
snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic
power outages. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and
tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages.
Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.
Extreme Cold Warning issued January 21 at 3:19AM EST until January 22 at 10:00AM EST by NWS Tallahassee FL
* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low
as 20. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills
as low as 11 expected.
* WHERE...Portions of Big Bend and Panhandle Florida and south
central and southwest Georgia.
* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 11 AM EST /10 AM CST/
this morning. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 1 AM EST
/midnight CST/ to 10 AM EST /9 AM CST/ Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
Gale Warning issued January 21 at 10:52AM EST until January 22 at 12:00AM EST by NWS Tallahassee FL
* WHAT...North winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and seas
5 to 8 ft expected.
* WHERE...Gulf waters from the Walton-Okaloosa County line to
the Suwannee river out 60 nautical miles.
* WHEN...Until midnight EST /11 PM CST/ tonight.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
