* WHAT...Very cold wind chills 15 to 20 degrees tonight and 10 to 15
degrees above zero both Tuesday night and Wednesday night.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with
prolonged exposure.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This will be an unusually long period of
bitterly cold weather. Daytime highs will only warm into the 30s
both Tuesday and Wednesday with overnight lows dropping into the
teens to lower 20s. Be sure to take protective actions to prepare
both your home and business as well as yourself for this period of
very cold weather.
Winter Storm Watch issued January 19 at 9:37PM EST until January 22 at 12:00PM EST by NWS Charleston SC
* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations one to three
inches possible.
* WHERE...In Georgia, Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, Evans, Jenkins,
Screven, and Tattnall Counties. In South Carolina, Allendale,
Charleston, Coastal Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton, Inland
Berkeley, Inland Colleton, Inland Jasper, and Tidal Berkeley
Counties.
* WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Plan on treacherous road conditions, especially on
bridges and overpasses. Very cold temperatures Wednesday night
could result in refreezing and black ice formation.
Small Craft Advisory issued January 19 at 6:58PM EST until January 20 at 10:00AM EST by NWS Charleston SC
* WHAT...Northwest winds 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt and
seas 3 to 6 ft.
* WHERE...South Santee River to Edisto Beach out 20 NM.
* WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.
