Boating, Fishing, and Travel Information for Captiva Island, Pine Island Sound, FL
Located to the north of well-known Sanibel Island, Captiva Island is located in Lee County, FL. The isand was originally part of nearby Sanibel Island, but a hurricane in 1926 created a new channel between the two, called Blind Pass. It is a barrier island to Pine Island. Pine Island Sound is to west of Captiva, and is the location of the Pine Island Sound Aquatic Preserve.
