Every ship needs a well-stocked liquor locker, and Rockport is home to a wonderful place to replenish the libations. RAYR offers more than 500 different wines as well as a delightful selection of port, rum, and other liquors. The owners opened the store a couple of years ago after attending the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship just up the road, and the intricate shelving, tables, and counters reflects their appreciation of fine furniture. Make no mistake: This is not a brown-bag stop, but rather a place where you’re more likely to find yourself discussing the attributes of a tawny port or this year’s Beaujolais.
Located at Pascal and West Street in Rockport Village, they have a coffee/espresso bar with seating inside and out. Store hours are 10 am to 6 pm Tuesday through Saturday. They offer delivery to the harbor, catering to the local yachting community but we recommend venturing the distance to Rayr to browse, sit, and enjoy the company of the owners.
