Front Street Shipyard Draws more than 400 to Open House

More than 400 people showed their support for Front Street Shipyard in Belfast, Maine, on July 2 during at the Open House celebration. The young yard hosted local officials, regional marine industry professionals and the greater Belfast community for a BBQ and gathering on the waterfront. The new 165-ton Marine Travel Lift was the center of attention; party-goers young and old had the opportunity to drive the new remote-controlled T-lift. All four owners of the yard — JB Turner, president; Taylor Allen of Rockport Shipyard; Steve White of Brooklin Boat Yard; and Kenneth Priest of Kenway Corp. — thanked the Belfast community in short speeches in the mid-afternoon.
