On a recent visit out to Petit Manan, a seabird restoration colony within the Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge, we had an unexpected guest. Representative Mike Michaud had never before seen a puffin, despite growing up in Maine. Despite Rep. Michaud’s efforts to help bring federal funding to Maine’s refuges, the terns dive-bombed him along with the rest of us. Apparently terns don’t discriminate!
