More than anything else, summer heat makes me think of the ocean. To jump off the dock into the ice cold waters of Penobscot Bay on a sweltering day is truly heaven! The fields of Aldermere Farm are blanketed with flowers and lush, green grass. Rockport Harbor is full of wooden boats, sleek yachts, and skiffs of every shape and size. The moon rises over the second hole at the Megunticook Golf Club, towering over North Haven and islands in between, with a brilliant yellow glow that shimmers off the water and casts a spell upon any onlooker. These are the days we dream for in the depths of a January blizzard. Summertime is the sweet time of life, the time when the ocean beckons and the warm winds of July fill your sails.
