Save the Bay Aquarium Opens for Winter Season

The Save The Bay Aquarium opens for the winter season just in time for Columbus Day Weekend. Toodles, a common octopus, will make his official public debut at the aquarium, located on Memorial Drive at Easton Beach in Newport. Common octopus are among the smartest inverbrates on the planet, occupying cool waters offshore and migrating into the Bay for the winter season. The aquarium will open for weekends, beginning October 6, with daily critter feeding time at noon.

Explore fourteen interactive exhibits at the aquarium, including a shark touch tank and over 140 species of Narragansett Bay creatures. Dive elbow-deep in touch tanks or get face-to-fin with lobsters, crabs, moon jellies, sea cucumbers and some funky looking fish. Join for feeding time at noon on Saturday and Sunday. $6.00 for general admission. Free admission for Save The Bay members and children under 3.
