Save the Bay Opens South Coast Center in Westerly

On April 27 Save the Bay was delighted to hold the grand opening of its South Coast Center in Westerly. The event was a huge success, with over 250 visitors touring our new location at 8 Broad Street. Many thanks go out to all of the Save The Bay volunteers, members, staff, volunteers, and board members for their support and hard work.

This day was the culmination of many months of hard work to create a resource to the coastal community. Save The Bay is embarking on its seventh year in the Westerly community, and the support was more than we could have imagined.

All of the feedback received was very positive. Many people told us that they cannot wait to come back and bring their friends! People are looking forward to the time when our two vessels, Alletta Morris and Elizabeth Morris, make their way into Little Narragansett Bay and the Pawcatuck River. This new South Coast Center is only the beginning!

Hours are currently from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, though those hours may increase with more volunteers. Admission is free.
