Dozing below deck at dawn, I enjoyed the peaceful sound of a passing rower on the calm water, outside our hull.
“Dip-squeak, swoosh,…. dip-squeak, swoosh,…. dip-squeak, swoosh….”
With long pauses between the melodic sets, the pace was leisurely. For the person in the small boat, I could tell the rowing was not a means to an end. My ears followed the lovely sounds of the rower on the water as they faded away in the distance.
Here’s to everyone who enjoys rowing a small boat.
