The Secretary of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources announces changes to the recreational and commercial tautog season and catch limits.
SEASON AND CATCH LIMITS
The recreational and commercial tautog season and catch limits from January 1 through
December 31, 2020 are:
- January 1 – May 15: 4 fish/person/day
- May 16 – June 30: Closed
- July 1 – October 31: 2 fish/person/day
- November 1 – December 31: 4 fish/person/day
WHY THIS IS NECESSARY
This action is necessary to implement the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s
Amendment 1 to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for Tautog.
WHO THIS NOTICE AFFECTS
This applies to all individuals who catch tautog recreationally and commercially.
EFFECTIVE DATE
The effective date is 12:01 a.m. January 1, 2020.
