Coastal Flooding Predictions for November 2023
NOAA is predicting possible high-tide flooding both in the middle, and at the end, of the month in various locations across the country. Although the high-tide flood outlook is a bit quieter than October, locations in the Galveston, Texas area may see “likely” flooding ALL month, and harbors in Puget Sound, WA are predicted to have flooding in November. Again, NOAA does not seem to have any predictions for Alaska at this point.

About these Predictions: “These flooding likelihoods are derived from a probabilistic model that incorporates tide predictions, sea level rise trends, and seasonal changes in coastal sea level to predict the potential that a higher than normal high tide may exceed established National Ocean Service flood thresholds. During these periods, high tide flooding may occur in flood-prone areas.” NOAA
