Senator Angus King

Senator Angus King has served as Maine’s first Independent United States Senator since 2013. He is a member of the Armed Services Committee, the Select Committee on Intelligence, the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, and the Committee on Rules and Administration. Prior to taking office, Senator King served as the 72nd Governor of Maine, and in his free time, heenjoys exploring the Maine outdoors, either on his Harley or with his family in their camper.

John Englander, Oceanographer and Author

Sea Level Rise with John Englander

John is an oceanographer, author of two best-selling books, speaker, and international expert on climate change and sea level rise. His first book, High Tide on Main Street (2012) dramatically showed how sea level rise will happen far more quickly than most people think. His second, Moving to Higher Ground (2021) updates the timetable of his first work and addresses real solutions for coastal residents and infrastructure. Renee ColliniStorm Surge & Adaptation with Renee Collini

Renee leads Place: SLR, a multi-state network of stakeholders, researchers, NGOs, and state and federal agencies to build tools and programs to address gaps in sea-level rise observing, research, and decision-making in the northern Gulf of Mexico. Collini is an author on the Fifth National Climate Assessment’s Coastal Effects Chapter.

David is an oceanographer with NOAA, specializing in tide and coastal water level monitoring technologies and predictions.
