Winter Storm Warning issued January 20 at 7:40PM EST until January 22 at 12:00PM EST by NWS Charleston SC
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations up
to two inches.
* WHERE...In Georgia, Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, Evans, Jenkins,
Screven, and Tattnall Counties. In South Carolina, Allendale,
Beaufort, Charleston, Coastal Colleton, Coastal Jasper,
Dorchester, Hampton, Inland Berkeley, Inland Colleton, Inland
Jasper, and Tidal Berkeley Counties.
* WHEN...From 5 PM Tuesday to noon EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday
evening and Wednesday morning commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is an enhanced risk for sleet occurring
along the lower South Carolina coastal counties, especially inland
of US 17.

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills of 10 to 20 degrees tonight and 10 to
15 degrees above zero Tuesday night.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. Wind chill values can lead to
hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This will be an unusually long period of
bitterly cold weather. Daytime highs will only warm into the upper
30s to around 40 degrees Tuesday and mid to upper 30s Wednesday.
Overnight lows will drop into 20s both tonight and Tuesday night.
