The southern tip of Dewees Island in Charleston County is located along Dewees Inlet near Cedar Creek. The inlet leads from the Atlantic Ocean into Long Creek and Bullyard Sound. The island is home to a small community of residents who travel by gold cart as gas-powered vehicles are prohibited. It only receives about 2,000 tourists each year and can be accessed by a ferry running between the Isle of Palms and Dewees Island.
