High Tide Flooding Outlook for November 2024Posted October 31, 2024Last Updated October 28, 2024 @ 1:47pm By US Harbors Monthly High Tide Flooding Outlook, November 2024 NOAA is predicting higher tides on and around the full moon, which will occur on November 15th. While a few locations on the East and West Coasts are likely to see flooding in the middle of November, many locations in Hawaii are likely to witness flooding in the days immediately following the full moon. Note that “likely” means that NOAA predicts a greater than 50% chance of flooding, as the predicted high tides will be very close to exceeding the flooding threshold. Real-time weather conditions, including wind direction and storm surge, could increase the potential for flooding. Make sure to print out the tide chart for your part of the coast so that you can keep track of the water in your favorite harbors. In the Northeast, Portland, Maine, and Boston are likely to see some coastal flooding on November 16. The only other locations on the East Coast that are likely to see flooding are Fort Pulaski, Georgia, and Port Canaveral, Florida, both of which may see it on November 15th and 16th On the West Coast, San Diego is likely to see flooding on November 15th and North Split, California, is likely to see it November 15-17. South Beach, Oregon, is likely to see flooding on November 16th, and Toke Point, Washington, is likely to see it November 15-16. Harbors in the Hawaiian islands of Oahu and Maui are likely to see flooding on November 16th and 17, while the Big Island is likely to see flooding November 15-18. See the details on all the harbors and locations where NOAA is predicting possible and likely coastal flooding this month: The Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Gulf Coast, West Coast, and Hawaii. About these Predictions: “These flooding likelihoods are derived from a probabilistic model that incorporates tide predictions, sea level rise trends, and seasonal changes in coastal sea level to predict the potential that a higher than normal high tide may exceed established National Ocean Service flood thresholds. During these periods, high tide flooding may occur in flood-prone areas.” NOAA Northeast: Possible Flood Days Bar Harbor, ME — POSSIBLE Nov 14,15,17,18; LIKELY flooding Nov 16 Portland, ME — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Boston, MA — POSSIBLE Nov 14,15,17,18; LIKELY flooding Nov 16 Providence, RI — POSSIBLE Nov 14-17 Newport, RI — POSSIBLE Nov 14-17 Bridgeport, CT — POSSIBLE Nov 14-17 Mid-Atlantic: Possible Flood Days Kings Point, NY — POSSIBLE Nov 13-17 The Battery, NY — POSSIBLE Nov 14-17 Bergen Point West Reach, NY — POSSIBLE Nov 14-17 Sandy Hook, NJ — POSSIBLE Nov 14-17 Atlantic City, NJ — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Cape May, NJ — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Lewes, DE — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Wachapreague, VA — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Kiptopeke, VA — POSSIBLE Nov 15-17 Sewells Point, VA — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Southeast: Possible Flood Days Duck, NC — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Springmaid Pier, SC — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Charleston, SC — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Fort Pulaski, GA — POSSIBLE Nov 13,14,17,18; LIKELY flooding Nov 15,16 Fernandina Beach, FL — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Mayport, FL — POSSIBLE Nov 14-18 Port Canaveral, FL — POSSIBLE Nov 13,14,20,21,22; LIKELY flooding Nov 15,16 Gulf Coast: Possible Flood Days Cedar Key, FL — POSSIBLE Nov 16-18 Bay Saint Louis, MS — POSSIBLE Nov 3-6 and 16-18 Galveston, Pier 21, TX — POSSIBLE Nov 1-8 & 14-20 Eagle Point, Galveston Bay, TX — POSSIBLE Nov 1-24, 26-30 West Coast: Likely & Possible Flood Days San Diego, CA — POSSIBLE Nov 16,17; LIKELY flooding Nov 15 North Spit, CA — POSSIBLE Nov 14,18; LIKELY flooding Nov 15-17 Port Orford, OR — POSSIBLE Nov 15-17 Charleston, OR — POSSIBLE Nov 14-17 South Beach, OR — POSSIBLE Nov 14,15,17,18; LIKELY flooding Nov 16 Toke Point, WA — POSSIBLE Nov 13,14,17,18; LIKELY flooding Nov 15,16 Hawaii: Likely & Possible Flood Days Kauai: Nawiliwili, HI — POSSIBLE Nov 15-18 Oahu: Honolulu, HI — POSSIBLE Nov 15,18; LIKELY flooding Nov 16,17 Mokuoloe, HI — POSSIBLE Nov 15,18; LIKELY flooding Nov 16,17 Maui: Kahului, HI — POSSIBLE Nov 15,18; LIKELY flooding Nov 16,17 Hawaii, Big Island: Hilo, Hilo Bay, Kuhio Bay, HI — POSSIBLE Nov 14,19; LIKELY flooding Nov 15-18 Kawaihae, HI — POSSIBLE Nov 14,19; LIKELY flooding Nov 15-18 If you see high tide flooding near you, please send us your photos and include the date, time, and location.
