Thomaston already has several fine art galleries, one of the best cafes anywhere, and even a great tavern where you can grab a pint of Guinness. Now, it’s also home to one of the coolest coffee joints in the Midcoast.
The Highlands Coffee House on Route 1 in Thomaston is a terrific new place for coffee, breakfast or lunch. The owners have transformed a former bank into a attractive new space complete with the work of local artists and photographers. There is even a music venue planned.
It is also a perfect place for an informal meeting, with a more private space available in the former bank’s vault! Great for those very private discussions as you plan for your new yacht. Hmmmm, there must be a boatbuilder nearby…
