dangerously cold wind chills as low as 31 below expected.
* WHERE...Alger, Southern Schoolcraft and Northern Schoolcraft
Counties.
* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 10 PM this evening
to 1 AM EST Tuesday. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 1 AM
to 1 PM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to
these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures
could cause ruptured water pipes.

Winter Weather Advisory issued January 19 at 2:51PM EST until January 21 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Marquette MI
* WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 12
inches, mainly between Munising and Newberry. Isolated amounts to
18 inches cannot be ruled out north of M-28. Around an inch or
less west of Chatham.
* WHERE...Alger, Luce, and Northern Schoolcraft Counties.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible at times.
Whiteout conditions possible at times. The hazardous conditions
will impact the morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind chills are expected to lower to 20 below
to 25 below zero tonight into Monday, and then 25 below to 30
below zero Monday night into Tuesday. Therefore, dress warmly and
have a winter survival kit in your vehicle if venturing out early
this week.
Small Craft Advisory issued January 19 at 3:35PM EST until January 21 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Marquette MI
* WHAT...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing
spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater occurring, and may
rapidly accumulate on vessels. For the Small Craft Advisory,
northwest winds 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt and waves 5
to 8 ft occurring.
* WHERE...Marquette to Munising MI, Munising to Grand Marais MI
and Grand Marais to Whitefish Point MI.
* WHEN...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, until 7 PM EST
Tuesday. For the Small Craft Advisory, until 7 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.
