World Ocean Day Beach Cleanup Events Near You

In honor of World Ocean Day (June 8th, 2021), we’ve gathered a few of our favorite beach cleanup events throughout the country.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Shore Buddies is hosting a beach clean up for World Oceans Day on June 8th, 2021 at 8:00am PDT! Check out our social media channels for a fun eco-friendly scavenger hunt to do as you clean the beaches! Please bring your own items needed for a clean up mission: gloves, bucket/bag, trash grabber, face mask, water bottles, and anything else you might need to clean up our beaches!

MIAMI, FL – Take part in this beach cleanup with Debris Free Oceans, and reward your efforts at Wave, at 1 Beach Club with a specialty1 Beach Club cocktail. All proceeds go to Debris Free Oceans. Meeting point will be at the entrance of 1 Beach Club, located on 24th and Collins (wooden gate).

BOSTON, MA – Join Everlane and the Surfrider Foundation MA Chapter for a cleanup around the Fan Pier Harborwalk. Starting at 11:30AM on June 8 2021. Look out for the Surfrider MA flag along the water near the Harborwalk Playground (behind 22 Liberty Drive) and the Harborwalk Lookout Terrace (25 Fan Pier Boulevard). All participants will be required to wear a face covering during the event and guidance is in place to help maintain 6 ft physical distancing. Please bring your own work gloves, face covering, and food/drink for this cleanup. Sanitized buckets and tools for trash collection will be provided, as well as gear for data collection and plenty of hand sanitizer!

EAST HAMPTON, NY – Join the Surfrider Foundation Eastern Long Island Chapter for an afternoon beach cleanup at Cedar Point County Park in East Hampton. Please sign the beach cleanup waiver in your email after registering and bring your own reusable gloves, water, and sun protection. Volunteers will receive a free canvas bag from our sponsor Everlane as a thank you for doing your part to keep our waters clean!

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The event will be held Tuesday, June 8th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., rain or shine. Participants are asked to meet at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, close to the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel. Gloves and trash bags will be provided onsite. Participants are encouraged to bring sunscreen and water.
