One of the aspects of boating that I appreciate the most is that it serves as the great equalizer: the handyman on his five-thousand dollar yard sale special may be having just as much fun on the bay as the venture capitalist on his multimillion-dollar yacht. And yet, when I’m shipping water in my inflatable on the way out to my mooring, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to envying, at least a teensy bit, those who travel in more comfort than I.
