Welcome to Big Pine Key, Newfound Harbor Channel, FL
The island of Big Pine Key in Monroe County is home to the only freshwater lake in the Florida Keys. The lake is called the Blue Hole and is an abandoned rock quarry. The quarry is home to wildlife including alligators and green iguanas. Big Pine Key is also home to the National Key Deer Refuge. Newfound Harbor Channel is located off the southwestern end of the key.
