Boating, Fishing, and Travel Information for Big Pine Key, Bogie Channel Bridge, FL
The island of Big Pine Key in Monroe County is home to the only freshwater lake in the Florida Keys. The lake is called the Blue Hole and is an abandoned rock quarry. The quarry is home to wildlife including alligators and green iguanas. Big Pine Key is also home to the National Key Deer Refuge. The Bogie Channel Bridge on the key’s east coast connects Big Pine Key to No Name Key.
