- A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Beaufort, Coastal
Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Colleton, Coastal Jasper,
Coastal Liberty, Coastal McIntosh, Inland Bryan, Inland
Chatham, Inland Jasper, Inland Liberty, and Inland McIntosh

* STORM INFORMATION:
- About 300 miles south of Charleston SC or about 250 miles south
of Savannah GA
- 28.5N 80.5W
- Storm Intensity 85 mph
- Movement Northeast or 55 degrees at 18 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

Hurricane Milton has pushed offshore of the Florida east coast near
Cape Canaveral and will continue to move out into the open Atlantic
while weakening. Although Milton will pass well south of the area,
significant impacts will extend for several hundred miles from where
the center tracks.

Tropical storm force wind gusts have been occurring over the Atlantic
coastal waters as well as along portions of the Georgia coast early
this morning. Tropical storm force winds will expand into the
remainder of coastal Georgia into far south coastal South Carolina
later this morning. Frequent gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible with
the highest winds occurring along the immediate coastline, on exposed
highways leading to barrier island such as Highway 80 and on elevated
bridges and overpasses. Winds will then steadily weaken late this
afternoon and tonight. Winds of this magnitude will likely down or
uproot trees and cause power outages.

Elevated tide levels are occurring along the coast this morning. Storm
surge inundation of 1 to 3 feet above normally dry ground is possible
along the coast. The greatest potential for inundation is will occur
with the afternoon high tide. Additional coastal flooding is possible
with high tide cycles Thursday night, Friday afternoon and Saturday
afternoon.

Breaking waves of 4 to 7 feet will occur along the beaches through
this evening. The combination of powerful high surf and elevated tides
will produce significant beach erosion.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS
-----------------

* WIND:
Potential impacts from the main wind event are now unfolding across
coastal Georgia and far south coastal South Carolina. Remain well
sheltered from hazardous wind having possible limited impacts. If
realized, these impacts include:
- Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored
mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.
- Large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or uprooted,
but with greater numbers in places where trees are shallow
rooted.
- Some roads impassable due to debris, particularly within urban
or heavily wooded locations. Hazardous driving conditions on
bridges and other elevated roadways, especially for high
profile vehicles.
- Isolated to scattered power and communications outages.

Elsewhere across southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia,
little to no impact is anticipated.

* SURGE:
Potential impacts from the main surge event are now unfolding across
coastal Georgia and far south coastal South Carolina. Remain well
away from locally hazardous surge having possible limited impacts. If
realized, these impacts include:
- Localized inundation of saltwater mainly along immediate
shorelines and in low-lying spots farther inland near rivers
and creeks.
- Sections of near-shore roads and parking lots become overspread
with surge water. Driving conditions hazardous in places where
surge water covers the road.
- Minor to moderate beach erosion. Heavy surf possibly breaching
dunes, mainly in normally vulnerable locations. Strong rip
currents.
- Minor to locally moderate damage to marinas, docks, boardwalks,
and piers. A few small craft broken away from moorings.

Elsewhere across southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia,
little to no impact is anticipated.

**HURRICANE MILTON TO BRING WIND IMPACTS TO SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AND
SOUTHEAST SOUTH CAROLINA**

miles south of Savannah GA

- Movement East-northeast or 60 degrees at 16 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

Hurricane Milton will continue to track eastward and weaken across
central Florida tonight, emerging over the western Atlantic Thursday
morning. Milton will then continue to move further eastward across the
Atlantic through Friday. Although Milton will pass well south of the
area, significant impacts will extend for several hundred miles from
where the center tracks.

Tropical storm force winds are forecast to begin impacting coastal
portions of the area Thursday morning and continue through Thursday
afternoon. Frequent gusts of 40 to 45 mph are possible with the
highest winds occurring along the immediate coastline and on elevated
bridges and overpasses. Winds will then steadily weaken through
Thursday night. Winds of this magnitude will likely down or uproot
trees and cause power outages.

Storm surge inundation of 1 to 3 feet above normally dry ground is
possible along the coast. The greatest potential for inundation is
expected to occur with the Thursday afternoon high tide. Additional
coastal flooding is possible with high tide cycles Thursday night,
Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon.

Breaking waves of 5 ft or greater are possible at all beaches into
Friday. Breakers could peak around 4-6 ft Thursday afternoon into
Thursday evening. Moderate beach erosion is expected along the Georgia
coast up to Edisto Beach, South Carolina. Minor to moderate beach
erosion is also a concern for Charleston County beaches.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS
