Marine Weather Statement issued December 11 at 10:56AM EST by NWS Charleston SC
The areas affected include...
Waters from South Santee River SC to Altamaha Sound GA out 20 NM...
Charleston Harbor...
The combination of strong offshore winds and very low tides will
result in critically low water levels late this evening. These low
water levels may make navigation difficult in some locations,
including area harbors, inlets and the Intracoastal Waterway. This
includes the Charleston Harbor and adjacent rivers, parts of the
Port of Savannah and the Savannah River, as well as the Broad River.
Mariners should maneuver shallow waters with extreme caution as
objects that are normally submerged may become visible and could
pose a hazard to navigation.
Low tide will occur in the Charleston Habor around 1025 PM and Fort
Pulaski around 1046 PM.
