Refit of 100′ Swan “Red Sky” Underway in Thomaston

This fall Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding Co. of Thomaston, Maine, welcomed the 100′ Swan Red Sky and her crew back to Thomaston. Red Sky now has the distinction of holding the record for the longest mast pulled by the Lyman-Morse crew – 140 feet! The mast and Red Sky are both now snugged in Building 11 and Scott Layton and his team are knocking out an extensive list of refit projects.

This year’s punchlist for Red Sky includes painting of the hull, deck, mast and boom, and garage; replacing the generator; replacing all batteries; varnishing all soles, most of the interior, wheels, cockpit table, and flag poles; installing new teak around most deck hatches; replacing running rigging; re-heading, die testing and inspection of all rod rigging; full maintenance on Hundested propeller system; major electronic wiring; new mainsail and jib; new rope lighting in cockpit, salon, and helm station.

Discerning owners and crews of fine yachts like Red Sky recognize the quality and value that they receive at Maine boatyards such as Lyman-Morse.
