Boating, Fishing, and Travel Information for Ano Nuevo Island, CA

Ano Nuevo Island is a small island in San Mateo County off the coast of Northern California and a point called Ano Nuevo Point. It is part of the Ano Nuevo State Reserve and the Ano Nuevo State Park and is bordered by the Ano Nuevo State Marine Conservation Area and Greyhound Rock State Marine Conservation Area. The island is a breeding ground for northern elephant seals and the endangered Steller’s sea lion. It is also home to a variety of seabirds. The island is closed to the public and is only accessible to approved research teams.
