expected.
* WHERE...Coastal Hancock, Coastal Washington, Northern Washington,
Central Washington, Interior Hancock, Central Penobscot, and
Southern Penobscot Counties.
* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 7 PM EST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Gale Warning issued February 14 at 3:26AM EST until February 15 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Caribou ME
* WHAT...For the Gale Warning, northwest winds 25 to 35 kt with
gusts up to 45 kt and seas 6 to 11 ft. For the Freezing Spray
Advisory, moderate accumulation of freezing spray expected.
* WHERE...Coastal Waters from Eastport, ME to Schoodic Point, ME
out 25 NM and Coastal Waters from Schoodic Point, ME to
Stonington, ME out 25 NM.
* WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 7 AM EST Saturday. For the
Freezing Spray Advisory, from 7 AM this morning to 1 PM EST
Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in freezing spray is hazardous.
Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components
inoperative. Ice accretion on decks and superstructures may
result in some loss of stability. Strong winds will cause
hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and
reduce visibility.
