Fivemile River is a narrow inlet about 0.6 mile westward of Noroton Point and about 0.9 mile northward of Greens Ledge Light. A Federal project provides for a depth of 8 feet to a point about 1 mile up the river. The river is shallow except in the dredged channel and rocks exposed 2 feet at low water have been reported on the east side of the channel near the channel edge in about 41°03’37″N., 73°26’47″W. The channel is marked by buoys.
